Colourjam Web & Print Design

Colourjam is a Web & Print design company established by myself Chris Thornton at the start of 2004. I am a sole trader, specialising in front end design and back end systems for websites.

I completed my Computing degree at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen in 2003 and started looking for a job in website design. I soon found myself stuck in the trap of being unable to get a job without experience and couldn't get experience without a job. It was most disheartening. I researched the quality of work other web design companies were producing and I felt I could do better myself so in June 2004 I started my own business and called it Colourjam.

The first website I made was - the 'Highland Ultimate Bands List' (now sadly obsolete due to lack of time). Its launch was featured in the Northern Scot newspaper. Readers of the article were impressed with the website and soon offers of web design work were coming in.
